Tirumala, 20 June 2016: The Alwar Divya Prabandhas are simplified vedic texts in Tamil penned by the twelve Alwars for the well being of the humanity and today the same will be recited in the Tiruvenkatam during Garuda Seva said, HH Sri Pedda Jiyangar and Chinna Jiyangar, the seers of Tirumala.
The Divya Prabandha Parayana Ghosti convention took place in Asthana Mandapam at Tirumala on Monday, Speaking on this occasion, the pontiffs of Tirumala said, this year TTD is observing Ramanuja Sahasrabdi in a big way in commemoration of the Millennium Birth Anniversary of the Saint Sri Ramanujacharya. “Today I appreciate the temple management for taking up the recitation of Nalayira Divya Prabandha Parayanam in a big way inviting all the Parayanamdars hailing from 106 Divya Desams across the country”, they said.

Later in his speech Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju said that Pasurams are the essence of Vedas and there is need to sustain the legacy of Pasura Parayanam for next generations”, he added.

The children should be trained in Divya Prabandha Parayanam recitation from school level so as to sustain the Kainkaryams for ever and ever. “I also appeal the project to see that all the forewords written by stalwarts on Divya Prabandha Parayanam be complied and brought out in the form of a book for the sake of future generations”.

The Nalayira Divya Prabandha Pasurams were penned by Alwars to elucidate the embedded ethical values of Chaturvedas in easy way, said All Projects Special Officer Sri N Muktheswara Rao.
The Alwars preached Prapatti and Sharangati, the two means for attaining salvation by penning Divya Prabandha Pasurams said, Deputy EO Services Sri L Vijaya Saradhi.
