Tirumala, 28 December 2016: “I prayed the Lord Venkateswara to bestow his benign blessings on the entire universal fraternity as we are stepping in to a new year”, said the honourable President of India, Dr Pranab Mukherjee.
The first citizen of the country had the darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala on Wednesday along with honourable Governor of AP and TS Sri ESL Narasimhan.
Speaking on this occasion, the President said he was fortunate to come darshan of Lord Venkateswara for one more time.
Earlier, on his arrival at the main entrance of the temple, he was received with temple honours. TTD Trust Board Chief Dr Ch Krishnamurthy, EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju also accorded warm welcome to the country’s top most dignitary.
After having darshan of Lord Venkateswara in front of the temple, the President along with his daughter Smt Sharmista Mukherjee and entourage was offered with vedasirvachanam at Ranayakula Mandapam.
Later he was presented with the silk vastram, prasadam, lamination photo of Lord.
Before worshiping Lord Venkateswara, the Prez offered prayers in Swami Pushkarini and in Bhu Varaha Swamy temple following the “Kshetra Sampradayam”.
Ministers Sri B Gopala Krishna Reddy, Sri Narayana, Collector Sri Siddharth Jain, DIG Prabhakara Rao, SP Urban Smt Jayalakshmi, CVSO in-charge Sri Srinivas, trust board members Sri Bhanuprakash Reddy, Dr Hariprasad and others were also present.
The honourable president of India Dr Pranab Mukherjee was given a warm welcome with temple honours in Sri Padmavathi temple on Wednesday. The TTD Trust board chief Dr ch Krishnamurthy, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar presented the prasadams of Ammavaru to the President and his entourage.
