Vijayawada,22 August 2016: The TTD sales cum display of publications, Srivari Dollars and CDs put up at the model Srivari Temple on PWD grounds of Vijayawada for Krishna Pushkaram will conclude and fold up on August 23, Wednesday.
The TTD publications division had displayed several rare and valuable collections at the Pushkaram venue. They included 15 volumes of Kavitraya Mahabharatam (all 18 chapters) heavily subsidised at Rs.1800 for entire set. Potana Bhagavatham in five volumes is also priced at Rs.936. The books with colorful pictures of collection of gold coins and coins of other metals found in the Srivari Hundi in english and Telugu and priced at Rs.2000 each was also a major hit.
Other items on display and sale counters were the coffee table books on Gold and other coins found in Srivari Hundis. The TTD publication on all inscriptions found in Srivari temple and others in eight volumes and priced at Rs.495 and a book on Tirumala temple history costing Rs.155 and Tirupati Venkateswara book @Rs.105 were all on display and were sold as hot cakes.Also available were the CDs of Annamayya sankirtana produced by the SV Recording project.
The TTD had also published-Pushkara Krishna, a special issue on the significance of Krishna river and Pushkarams. It highlighted the significance of Pushkaram, glory of Krishna river, rituals performed on river banks,temples and pilgrim centres, inscriptions, collections, Kuchipudi bhagavathtulu, Stotras praising Krishnamma and priced at Rs.200.
The copper dollars of 5 gms and 10 gms sold for Rs15 and 20 are a major hit and pilgrims are taking them home as a memento of Pushkarams for their friends and relatives and also wore the dollars as a symbol of their Krishna Pushkaram pilgrimage.
