Tirupati, 18 March 2017: In connection with Telugu New Year Sri Hemalambi Nama Samvatsara Ugadi on March 29, the local temples as well taken over temples of TTD are gearing up to observe the fete in a big way in their respective temples.
Apart from the Tiruchanoor, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Sri GT, Sri KRT, Sri KT, Appalyagunta, Narayanavanam, Nagulapuram, Nagari, Kosuvaripalle, Tarigonda, Valmikipuram, Bugga, Satravada temples present in Chittoor district, the taken over temples including Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Anantavaram in Guntur district, Upamaka temple in Visakhapatnam etc. are also getting ready to observe the Ugadi in a ceremonious manner.
In Tiruchanoor, after suprabhatam at 3am on that day, the processional deity of Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi will be rendered abhishekam and in the evening the goddess will go rounds on Pushpa Pallaki blessing devotees. The Ugadi Asthanam will be performed in the night at 8:00pm.
In Anantavaram, Panchanga Sravanam will be performed in the night at 7pm after the day long rituals.
The HDPP and Annamacharya Projects of TTD have arranged special programmes for the auspicious day.
