EXCHANING OF GARLANDS – EDURKOLU UTSAVAM HELD _ స్వామి, అమ్మవార్లు పూలమాలలు మార్చుకోవడమే ఎదుర్కోలు
Vontimitta/Tirumala, 11 April 2025: Before the commencement of Kalyanam, the procession of the Utsava Murthies of Sri Sita and Sri Rama from Sri Kodanda Ramalayam to Kalyana Vedika was held in a grand manner on Friday evening.
On this occasion, the unique ritual, “Edurkolu” – the Divine Meeting Ceremony was organized at the Kalyana Vedika.
This ”Meeting Ceremony” is the process of placing the Utsavamurthies of Swami and Ammavaru facing each other and exchanging garlands, which is considered one of the most important episodes in in the Hindu marriages.
On behalf of Ammavaru and Swami varu, Acharyas separately carried out the event of Mala Parivarthanam which attracted the devotees.
After offering Harati the deities were seated on the special platform of Kalyana Vedika.
TTD officials, temple religious staff, devotees and others participated.
