“WE NEED NO CERTIFICATION FROM OUTSIDERS ABOUT THE GREATNESS OF OUR VEDIC KNOWLEDGE”-AP GOVERNOR

TIRUPATI, MARCH 17: Describing Vedas as “Treasure trove of knowledge” which taught the entire humanity on how to lead a righteous life, the Honourable Governor of AP and TS Sri ESL Narasimhan said the vast knowledge embedded in Vedas need no certification from outsiders.

The first citizen of the state who graced the inaugural session of the four-day National Vedic Conference held in SV Vedic Varsity as Chief Guest in Tirupati on Tuesday in his speech said “the glory of the Vedas knows no bounds and it is manifested in the affairs of the world. The Vedic river is ageless and it traverses the length and breadth of our land and it is the responsibility of all of us to see that this knowledge river should not be allowed to dry up. There is no greater responsibility for a Hindu than keeping the Vedas a live and vibrant tradition”, he added.

Adding further, the Hon’ble Governor said, “More than mere chanting of the Vedic hymns, I believe in dissemination of information, the knowledge embedded in our ancient scriptures”. He called upon the Vedic scholars, faculty and students to focus more on research so that we can prove that whatever said in Vedas are authentic. The sound of the Vedas must pervade everywhere, must fill all space. The truths enshrined in them must be spread far and wide”, he asserted.

Later in his speech, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said TTD will ensure all support towards the development of Vedic knowledge. “The Veda parirakshana trust was established in 2007 and today the trust has over 25 crores. So money is not a problem. But an extensive research work need to be taken up the scholars to unearth the vast knowledge embedded in Vedas and educate the society on the same”, he maintained.

Earlier the varsity VC Prof. KE Devanathan explained about the concept of the programme wherein over 90 Vedic scholars from across the country are participating.

Later renowned veteran Sanskrit scholar Sri NSR Tatacharya was honoured with the title “Darshana Kalpadrumaha” by the honourable Governor. CDs on Esavasyopanishad, Mahanarayanopanishad, books titled Veda Vignana Tarangini, Polity on Vishnudharmottara Purana, Vedanga Saurabham, Shabda Ratnavali were also released on this occasion.

Belur Sri Vivekananda University VC Sri Atmapriyananda Swami, Vedic scholar Brahmasri Vishnubhatla Subrahmanya Ghanapathi were also present.
