MUSIC LOVERS OF TIRUPATI IMMERSE IN “BHAKTI SANKEERTANA SAGARA”

 TIRUPATI, 01 MARCH 2022: The unique classical Carnatic instrumental jugalbandi, “Navarathna Vaidya Sammelanam” organised at Mahati, casted a spell over the denizens of Tirupati with its mellifluous notes.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of Sri Venkateswara College of Music and Dance, Sri Tirupati M Sudhakar said, this unique college dedicated for fine arts with an aim to promote the classical Indian Carnatic Music was set up in the year 1963 by TTD.

It the last 60 years, the college produced stalwarts and versatile artists to the field of Carnatic vocal, instrumental music world, he added.

He said, the “Navarathna Vaidya Sammelanam” is a unique programme where in artists representing expertise in various instruments present the concert.

It was a treat for the music lovers on Monday evening, as they were immersed in the melodious tunes and notes produced by the wind and string instruments.

On Mridangam, Principal Sri Sudhakar, Veena Smt S Sri Vani, Violin Dr KV Krishna, Flute Sri M Ananta Krishna, Nadaswaram Sri V Haribabu, Dolu Sri Y L Srinivasulu, Ghatam Sri AS Shankar, Kanjeera Sri TV Krishna Vamsi,

Talam Sri Naveen presented their talents and mesmerized the audience.

Starting with Amma Aanandadayini…composed by renowned Carnatic Music legend, late Dr M Balamurali Krishna in Gambhira Nata Ragam, the nine precious musical icons presented Tyagaraja Kritis which included the popular “Endaro Mahanubhavulu…” in Sri Ragam, “Nada Loludai…Brahmandamu Kanave Manasa” in Kalyana Vasantam followed by a jugalbandi of five Ragas which stood as a special attraction.

The entire auditorium reverberated with divine musical vibes generated out of the magical performance by the artists to rhythmic applause from the art lovers of the temple city.
