ADDITIONAL EO URGES MEDIA TO REPORT FACTS

Tirumala, 25 February 25: Refuting the fake news spread by a media channel which allegedly reported the death of boy in a stampede at Annaprasadam Bhavan, TTD Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary urged the media to report only correct news keeping in mind the sentiments of devotees present globally.

Addressing a press conference in Annamaiah Bhavan at Tirumala on Tuesday evening, the Additional EO has given the details of the entire episode.

A 16 years old boy named Sri Manjunatha from Madikeri, Karnataka fell unconscious after he ran up along a ramp at  Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasada Bhavanam(MTVAC) in Tirumala on the evening March 22.

The staff on duty Immediately administered CPR and admitted the boy to Ashwini Hospital in Tirumala. 

Subsequently, the boy was shifted to the SVIMS Super Specialty Hospital in TTD Ambulance to Tirupati upon the advice of the doctors for a better medication. But unfortunately, the boy breathed his last today.

Adding further he said, ”In fact, the boy was suffering from a chronic heart disease since he was nine years old and also under went treatment for the same at Jayadev hospital in Bengaluru.

Even the boy’s father has asked his son’s body without postmortem stating that his died of a chronic heart problem. 

While the facts are like this, a media channel reported that the boy died due to a stampede in Annaprasada Bhavanam at Tirumala which is not true.

Everything is recorded in 3000 cameras put across Tirumala. You can see the visuals of the boy collapsing on his own at MTVAC which was recorded in CC cameras, the Additional EO said and displayed the visuals to media personnel.

Further he appealed to devotees through media to care of their personal health security and safety also and reiterated that media should cross check the facts with authorities and give correct news only keeping in view the sentiments of the devotees.
