TIRUMALA, MARCH 4: The TTD Vigilance and Security sleuths caught hold of 93,835ml of liquor in the last two months span at the Alipiri Check Post and the same has been destroyed in the presence of pilgrims as witnesses, by Assistant Excise Superintendent Sri V Chandra Sekhar Reddy and AVSO Sector V Sri K Appa Roy on Monday.
 
TTD CVSO Sri GVG Ashok Kumar in a statement said that as per the AP Endowments and Charitable Act, carrying or consuming liquors, non-vegetarian food were strictly banned on Tirumala Hills. The Vigilance and Security wing of TTD is taking all measures to prevent the carrying of prohibited items to Tirumala by organising regular checks at Alipiri Sapthagiri Toll Plaza and other foot path routes leading to Tirumala.
 
The CVSO also stated that in the year 2011 from August to December about 2,49,125ml of liquor and 11.75kilos of meat have been seized while in the whole year of 2012 around 5,21,197ml liquor and about 50 kilos of meat have been caught hold of by the TTD cops. “However in the last two months about 2.75kilos of meat has been seized”, the chief cop of TTD stated.
 
The CVSO also stated that most of the above items were brought by pilgrims from other states who are unaware of the rules at Tirumala Hills. Apart from above, persons who are bringing above items intentionally are being handed over to Police and cases were registered against them.
 
The following measures have been taken to educate the pilgrims :
         1. Giving wide publicity in SVBC 
2.    Coordination with RTC authorities is being maintained to make announcements in Bus Stands and display signs in RTC Buses.   
3.    The information about the prohibited  activities  in Tirumala is being printed on Toll Fee receipts which is given to vehicle owners at Alipiri check post.

తిరుమల, 04 మార్చి – 2013: ఈ ఏడాది గడచిన రెండు మాసాల్లో 93,835 మిల్లీ లీటర్ల మద్యాన్ని తి.తి.దే  నిఘా మరియు భధ్రతా సిబ్బంది అలిపిరి చెక్‌పోస్టు వద్ద పట్టుకోవటం జరిగిందని తి.తి.దే ముఖ్య నిఘా మరియు భద్రతాధికారి శ్రీ జి.వి.జి. అశోక్‌కుమార్‌ ఒక ప్రకటనలో పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ మొత్తం మద్యాన్ని సోమవారంనాడు అలిపిరి సప్తగిరి టోల్‌ప్లాజా వద్ద భక్తుల సమక్షంలో అసిస్టెంట్‌ ఎక్సైజ్‌ సూపరింటెండెంట్‌ శ్రీ వి. చంథ్రేఖర్‌ రెడ్డి, ఎ.వి.ఎస్‌.ఓ సెక్టార్‌-5 శ్రీ కె.అప్పారయ్‌ నేతృత్వంలో ధ్వంసం చేయటం జరిగిందన్నారు.

రాష్ట్ర దేవాదాయశాఖ చట్టం ప్రకారం తిరుమలకు మద్యం, మాంసంలను తీసుకువెళ్లడం, భుజించడం నిషేధమన్నారు. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో అలిపిరి చెక్‌పోస్టు వద్ద, తిరుమల కాలిబాట మార్గాలలో విజిలెన్సు తణికీలు ముమ్మరం చేయడం జరిగిందని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఇందులో భాగంగా ఈ ఏడాది జనవరి, ఫిబ్రవరి మాసాల్లో 93,835 మిల్లీ లీటర్ల మద్యాన్ని పట్టుకున్నామని తెలిపారు. ఒకసారి పూర్వాపరాలను సమీక్షించుకుంటే 2011వ సంవత్సరం ఆగష్టు నుండి డిశెంబరు వరకు 5 నెలలకుగాను 2,49,125 మిల్లీలీటర్ల మద్యాన్ని పట్టుకోగా, 2012వ సంవత్సరం మొత్తానికిగాను 5,21,197 మిల్లీ లీటర్ల మద్యం పట్టుకోవడం అయిందన్నారు. కాగా ఈ ఏడాది గత రెండు మాసాల్లో 93,835 మిల్లీ లీటర్ల మద్యం తమ సిబ్బంది పట్టుకున్నారన్నారు. అలాగే 2011వ సంవత్సరం జూన్‌ నుండి డిశెంబరు వరకు 11.75 కే.జీల మాంసం, 2012వ ఏడాది పూర్తికిగాను 50 కిలోల మాంసం, ప్రస్తుతం రెండు నెలలకు గాను 2.75 కిలోల మాంసాన్ని పట్టుకున్నట్లు ఆయన తెలిపారు.

ఈ పరిస్థితుల్లో తాము ప్రత్యేకంగా దృష్టిసారించి పూర్తిస్థాయిలో అధ్యయనం చేశామన్నారు. మద్యం, మాసం మరియు ఇతర నిషేధిత పదార్థాలు తిరుమలకు తీసుకురావడంపై నిబంధనలు స్పష్టంగావున్నా, ఇతర రాష్ట్ర భక్తులు ఈ విషయాలపై అవగాహన లేకపోవడంతో ఈ సమస్యలు ఎదురౌతున్నాయని తేలిందన్నారు. ఇక ఉద్ధేశపూర్వకంగా మద్యం, మాసం తీసుకువెళుతున్న వారిని తాము ఇప్పటికే గుర్తించి, పోలీసులకు అప్పగించి కేసులు నమోదు చేశామన్నారు.

ఈ నేపథ్యంలో భక్తులకు అవగాహన కల్పించేందుకు చర్యలు చేపట్టేందుకు నిర్ణయించుకున్నామని తెలిపారు. ఇందులో భాగంగా….

1. ఎస్‌.వి.భక్తి ఛానల్‌లో విస్తృతంగా ప్రచారం చేయడం.
2. ఆర్‌.టి.సి సహకారంతో తిరుమలకు తీసుకురాకూడని నిషేధిత పదార్థాలపై బస్టాండులలో ప్రకటనలు చేయించడం, ఆర్‌.టి.సి బస్సులలో ప్రయాణికుల అవగాహనార్థం హెచ్చరిక సూచికలు చేయించడం.
3. అలిపిరి టోల్‌గెట్‌ చెంత వాహనాలకిచ్చే రశీదులపై ఈ సమాచారం ముద్రించడం వంటి చర్యలద్వారా భక్తులను చైతన్యవంతులను చేయనున్నట్లు తి.తి.దే ముఖ్య నిఘా మరియు భద్రతాధికారి శ్రీ జి.వి.జి అశోక్‌కుమార్‌ ఒక ప్రకటనలో పేర్కొన్నారు.
