TTD EO COMPLETES ONE YEAR TENURE IN LORD’S ABODE

TIRUMALA, JUNE 17: Sri LV Subramanyam, IAS who has taken over the charges as the 22nd Executive Officer of world famous temple of Lord Venkateswara on 18th of June 2011, has successfully completed his one year term in the Lord’s abode. As the EO of TTDs, Sri LV Subramanyam has initiated several pro-pilgrim steps and welfare activities to the 10thousand plus strong work force of TTD during the last one year. Some excerpts:

The massive Rs.30cr Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasada Bhavan which has a capacity to feed 4000 pilgrims (about 70thousand pilgrims a day) in a single sitting has been inaugurated in Tirumala on July 7 over the hands of H.E. Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil, the honourable President of India. A new Kalyanamandapam which was constructed at Tarigonda was inaugurated by Hon’ble CM of AP Sri N Kiran Kumar Reddy on July 23 and Nityakalyanamastu programme has been launched. It is also decided to perform Kalyanotsavam in Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple on the auspicious star of Swathi every month.

In a major move, the system of issuing arjitha seva tickets including Tomala, Archana, Abhishekam and Vastram through lucky dip system has been introduced on August 1 which provided an opportunity to the common pilgrims to witness rare sevas of Lord and bless their lives.

The renovation of Vendivakili works inside the sanctum of Tirumala, has been completed within a short span of less than 45 days inspite of the pilgrim rush due to the personal interest taken by TTD EO. The EO also felicitated the workers for their expertise.

Giving a boost to the annual brahmotsavams, the EO along with board chief Sri Kanumuri Bapiraju, board members and other officials of TTD introduced Vahana Vaibhavam on September 24, 2011 where in the pilgrims got an opportunity to witness the grandeur of Lord’s processional vehicles. In a record manner, over 6,04,589 pilgrims had darshan of Lord Venkateswara in a span of nine days while over five lakhs witnessed the Garuda Seva on fifth day without any inconvenience.The most important thing is there is a heavy influx of pilgrims through foot path route which has touched all time high mark as 2, 06,029 pilgrims trekked Alipiri and Srivarimettu footpath routes showing hike by a whopping 212%. Over 1.2lakhs pilgrims on Garuda Seva day alone, were served free food setting a new record in the 80 year old history of TTD.

On September 29, the Rs.100cr twin drinking water project, Kumaradhara and Pasupudhara has been inaugurated by the Chief Minister Sri N Kiran Kumar Reddy to suffice the drinking water needs of the pilgrims. With an aim to spread the grace of Lord of Lords Sri Venkateswara across the country, TTD has also set to construct temples of lord Venkateswara at Mumbai, Kurukshetra, Kanyakumari.

A series of Srinivasa Kalyanams were also performed in different places of Maharastra, followed by Srinivasa Kalyanam at Nepal, kalyanams at US which received massive response from the public. The 100th Srinivasa Kalyanam was performed at Kolhapur while the 100th Govinda Kalyanam has been performed at Agency area.

A committee comprising experts from Numismatics and Archaeology visited Tirumala and segregated the age old coins in hundi as per their periods. The coins belonging to Pallavas, Vijayanagara dynasties were also put for public display on November 23. Similarly the copper plates where in the Keertans of Saint Poet Sri Annamacharya were engraved were also digitalised and kept in TTD museums for public display.

Taking the inspiration from the successful conduct of annual brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara, under the instructions of TTD EO, for the first time, annual brahmotsavams have been performed in a “never before grand manner” at Tiruchanoor, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Appalayagunta, Narayanavanam, Nagulapuram. While in Sri Kodandaramaswamy temple brahmotsavams, Vastradanam and Ramakoti received huge response from the public while the “Prahladam” programme launched at Pundarikavalli temple in Sri Govidaraja Swamy temple during annual brahmotsavams received a grand welcome from pregnant women.

Similarly the Subhapradham programmed aimed at inculcating ethical values among young generation during summer holidays received good response and about 4000 students were trained in Hindu Sanatana Dharma. To propagate hindu sanatana dharma among the public, TTD has also taken up spiritual discourses with eminent scholars including Brahmasri Malladi Chandrasekhara Shastry, Chaganti Koteswara Rao, Sri Paripurnananda Swamy, Sri Siddheswarananda Bharathi Teertha Swamy, Sri Kandadai Ramanujacharya and others. Vaggeyakara Vaibhavam-a special programme has been mulled by TTD to pay rich tributes to the saint poets and poetesses who propagated bhakti cult through carnatic music.

Besides a unique programme, Govindam Paramanandam has also been launched by TTD in SV Bhakti Channel where in the people can witness the sevas like Suprabhatam and Thomala sitting in their houses. About 60lakhs of Govindam Paramanandam books were also distributed across the state, Tamilnadu and Karnataka to help the devotees on how to perform puja with dedication.

As a part of its Dharma Prachara, TTD has decided to perform special pujas on the auspicious day of “Shravana Pournami” which is to take place on August 2 in about 10thousand temples across the state. The programme named “Shravana Pournami-Managudi” will be observed in all these temples.

Besides pilgrim activities, TTD EO has also taken some important decisions on employees front including provision of Health cards, wellness clinics exclusively for four thousand plus women employees, crowd management by women employees inside sanctum sanctorum during every Tuesdays, enhancement of salaries to contract lecturers, “Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru Pustaka Prasadam”, distribution of books to girl students who are under BPL studying in TTD, Government and aided schools etc.
