“FOLLOW THE FOOTSTEPS OF GREAT SAINTS TO LEAD A PIOUS LIFE”-TTD EO

TIRUPATI, NOV 12: TTD EO Sri MG Gopal called upon the devotees to trek the devotional path laid by great saints and saint poets who trekked the holy footpath route of Alipiri to reach the abode of Lord Venkateswara on bare foot and attained salvation to lead a life full of ethics and values.

Addressing the occasion of Traimasika Metlotsavam performed on the aegis of TTD Dasa Sahitya Project at Alipiri footpath route on Tuesday during the wee hours, the EO told the thousands of   Dasa devotees to keepup the legacy of great saints and seers like Sri Ramanuja, Sri Annamacharya, Sri Purandaradasa and many others who became rolemodels for the future generations by trekking holy footpath route. “In fact TTD’s top priority is the pilgrims who coming on foot through Alipiri and Srivarimettu routes. As a token gesture to their boundless devotion, we have even announced one additional laddu on free of cost to the existing two subsidised laddus from Vaikuntha Ekadasi day onwards.

Meanwhile over 3000 artistes belonging to bhajan troupes hailing from Karnataka, Tamilnadu apart from Andhra Pradesh gathered at Alipiri around 4.00 a.m. walking all the way rendering Dasa padams from 3rd Chowltry located near Tirupati Railway Station led by Dasa Sahitya Project Special Officer Sri Ananda Teerthacharyulu.

EO participated in the preliminary rituals performed on this occasion at Alipiri Padala Mandapam. Later the bhajan troupes walked up the flight of steps singing compositions of the Kannada Dasas in praise of Lord Venkateswara.
