MSS BIRTH CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS CONCLUDES ON A GRAND NOTE

REVIVE AND BRING BACK THE PAST GLORY TO OUR TRADITIONAL FINE ARTS-TTD BOARD MEMBER SRI BHANU PRAKASH REDDY

TIRUPATI, 6 Jan 2016: “There is an urgent need to bring back the past glory to our traditional fine arts which are the identity of our rich culture and heritage and TTD will definitely do its part to revive and enliven the fine arts”, asserted TTD Trust Board member Sri G Bhanuprakash Reddy.

Addressing the concluding session of the three day birth centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Smt MS Subbu Lakshmi in Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Wednesday night he said, MSS had a matchless voice and stood as inspiration to many to take carnatic music as their main subject. “She mesmerised the world with her divine voice and popularised Annamaiah Keertans”, he observed.

Later in his speech, CVSO Sri D Nagendra Kumar said, “Our day begins with melodious rendition of Suprabhatam rendered by Smt MSS. Even after many years, even today, the day commences in the temple town to the divine notes. Language is no barrier, as she has immortalised herself with her pleasing voice”, he added.

After the meeting the artistes of SV College of Music and Dance of TTD had presented a grand tribute to the legendary carnatic singeing rendering kritis, Madhurai Shanmukha Vadivu Namasthe…, Madhuragana Bharatarathna… Etc.

Tirupati Jeo Sri P Bhaskar, Special Officer of programme and DyEO Smt Gouthami, SV College of Music and Dance Principal Smt YVS Padmavathi were also present.
