NEW GEN WEBSITE IS PILGRIM-FRIENDLY

Tirumala, 1 July 2016: The New Gen Website designed jointly by TTD IT wing and TCS with enhanced quality is more pilgrim friendly than previous one and we would like to improve it following the suggestions from pilgrims before this month end, said TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

Addressing media persons after Dial Your EO programme in Tirumala at Annamaiah Bhavan on Friday, the EO said the new site has e-Donation, e-Hundi, and ticket booking facility in a simplified manner. “Very soon e-Accommodation will also included in this site for the benefit of pilgrims”, he added.

Later the EO said, over 24.70 lakh pilgrims had darshan while in the last June its onlyt 23.89lakhs, while Laddu prasadams recorded 94.20 lakhs while in last year it was only 87.65lakhs, about 22.88 lakhs were served annaprasadam and this figure stood at 21.80 lakhs during year last. Over 10.77lakhs tonsures recorded in last June while this year it reached 11.93lakhs. “The occupancy rate has also reached 107% this June”, EO added.

TWO GRAM DOLLARS READY FOR SALE

The EO said, apart from 2gms gold dollars, 2grams silver and copper dollars very soon bring to the fore tor sales for the sake of the pilgrims.

RESCHEDULING OF OPERATION DATES:

TTD EO said, the developmental works in BIRRD hospital will be completed by this month end. “We will reschedule the operations dates which have booked till 2019. We will take initative to reschedule the dates and operations will be completed in next one year”, he added.

MILLENNIUM RATHAM FROM NOVEMBER-JEO TIRUPATI

Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar said, the TTD has successfully completed the Ramanuja Ratha sancharam in two phases covering some Sri Vaishnava Divya Desaams in AP, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala. “We will again start our next spell in November after Krishna Pushkarams and annual brahmotsavams”, he added.

BALAMANDIR STUDENTS NOW TO EXCEL IN VEDIC MATHS

After showcasing their skills by chanting Aditya Hridayam and Srinivasa Gadyam, the students of SV Balamandir are now set to display their talent in Vedic Mathematics, said Special Officer of All Projects Sri N Muktheswara Rao. “A five-day workshop will soon be conducted in the Balamandiram premises on this subject”, he added.

Briefing on other major activities he said, for the first time in the world, TTD is contemplating to bring out 1,04,000 lakh slokas in Vyasa Mahabharata in Hyper Link Text with the help of Rastriya Sanskrita Vidya Peetham in Tirupati.

NEW SIGNAGE SYSTEM

To enable the pilgrims with proper directions, TTD is contemplating to set up new age signage boards at various places in Tirumala in five languages said, TTD CE Sri Chandra Shekhar Reddy.

MORE STALLS TO SELL TTD PUBLICATIONS

To meet the demand for TTD publications across the country, we have negotiated with all the book stalls located in AP, Telengana and Chennai and soon our publications, CDs, MP3 will be marketed in about 176 book stalls, said TTD PRO Dr T Ravi.

LADDU DALARIS CAUGHT

In the month of June over 55 dalaris have been caught hold of the vigilance sleuths of TTD, said VGO Securities Sri Ravindra Reddy.

NO PANIC ABOUT LEOPARD

The Deputy Conservator of Forests, TTD, Sri Siva Ram Prasad said that there is no need to fear for the movement of leopards in Tirumala habitation, as the TTD forest department with Forest officials have already kept traps to catch hold of the wild cats.

“Three including a mother and two cubs have been identified. The cubs are just 13-20 months old. We can take precautions by avoiding dumping of food waste near mutts and other places. The households are also requested to take care of their pet dogs, as they are favourite prey of leopard”, he added.

5000 PEEPAL TREES TO BE PLANTED

Apart from sandal wood plantation, we are now contemplating to plant 5000 Peepal trees(Ficus religiosa) across foot paths, prime places in Tirumala as they are considered to be the manifestation of Lord Sri Maha Vishnu, the DCF said.
