6000 TREATED ON GARUDA SEVA DAY SAYS CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

• 30 doctors and 45 para medic personnel additionally deployed
• Ready for any medical emergency

Tirumala, 21 September 2015: Over 23,000 devotees have been given medical treatment during the five days of Salakatla Brahmotsavam, says the Chief Medical Officer of TTD Dr N Vikas.

Speaking to reporters at the media center of Brahmotsavam-2015, Dr.Vikas said that on the Garuda seva day a record 6000 devotees were given medical treatment for ailments like suffocation,injuries and stomach upsets. “We are ready to face any medical emergency during the Brahmotsavams ‘ he says.

He said an additional staff of 30 doctors and 45 para medic personnel were roped in for attending to devotees needs on the Garuda Seva day in addition to the existing 20 doctors and 20 para medical staff.

For benefit of multitude of devotees the five dispensaries,5 first aid centers,medical camps at Srivari Mettu(1200th step) and Alipiri foot path and emergency cells at Ruia Hospital, SVIMS and BIRD were set up in addition to the 30 bedded Ashwini hospital and 6 bed Apollo cardiac center at Tirumala.
