“MASSES SHOULD BE ENLIGHTENED ON BREEDING DESI COWS”-MINISTER

Tirupati, 21 December 2014: Every individual should be enlightened upon the importance of rearing a “DESI” cow in every household in order make the state as well as the country prosperous, said, the Honourable Minister of AP Endowments Sri P Manikyala Rao.

The minister graced the statewide conference of Goshala Operators as chief guest organised jointly under the aegis of SV Gosamrakshana Shala Trust and Go Vyavasaya Arogya Vignana Kendram at Sri Venkateswara Goshala of TTD in Tirupati on Sunday. In his address the minister asserted that cow shouldn’t be treated as a holy animal alone but also should be treated as a family member. “You should develop the knowledge on how to use scientific methodologies to profit from the cow products and also how to benefit out of the products of non-milching cows also. You should also develop the technique of “farming through cow products” to achieve healthy agro-products”, added.

The minister also said, very soon the state of AP is going to be ideal for this new farming technique and I wish that this sadas conducted by TTD should sow the seeds which will yield products in a span of one and a half years”, he maintained.

Later speaking on the occasion TTD Tirupati JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar said, the temple administration is bound to develop DESI breeds of cow. “Fortunately, we have recently acquired around 430acres of land near Palamaner and in this vast area of land we exclusively want to develop indigenous cows and also disseminate them to those who want to develop DESI breeds by collecting only maintenance charges from them in future. Apart from this we want our SV Goshala to be a role model to all. We Also want to develop a Goshala Exhibition centre with a meditation hall, sapthagopradakshinashala, panchagavya products etc. to enlighten the masses on uses of DESI cows and their products”.

Adding further the JEO also said the TTD is also of the view of developing fodder development technology unit at Palamaner and Bio-gas energy plant in SV Dairy farm. “We also want to train up our Srivari Seva volunteers on the importance of DESI cows and take up awareness programmes with their help their native places also. We also contemplating to exclusively organise a programme “Managudi Gopuja” on kanuma day sankranthi festival next year. We will also planto take up ‘Gosamrakshana Prachara Rathams’ on the lines of dharma Prachara Rathams”, he added.

Meanwhile the meeting was presided over by Sri J Kumaraswamy-a renowned Gosamrakshana activist. Many Gosamrakshaks, cattle farmers, veterinarians took part and delivered noteworthy ideas.

SV Goshala director Dr Harinath Reddy, HDPP Special Offer Sri Raghunath, local MLA Sri C Bhaskar Reddy were also present.

Earlier the minister took part in the Gopuja performed in front of Sri Venugopala Swamy temple in the SV Goshala premises.
