ANKURARPANAM PERFORMED IN SKVST AND SKT

Tirupati, 9 February 2015: As a prelude to annual annual Brahmotsavams, the traditional ritual Ankurarpanam has been performed at both Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram and Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple in Tirupati on Monday evening.

Brahmotsavams will begin both at Srinivasa Mangapuram temple and Kapilateertam temple from February 10 with Dhwajarohanam on Tuesday.

While ‘Ankurarpanam’, is considered the initiating ritual, where in nine types of seeds will be sowed to signify fertility, prosperity and abundance. On the who this implies that the mega religious event of brahmotsavams should flourish well and shower prosperity on devotees. This ritual is usually performed in all Vaishnavaite and Saivaite temples especially under the umbrella of TTD.
