PRESIDENT OFFERS PRAYERS AT TIRUCHANOOR
TIRUMALA, SEPT 9: Hon’ble President of India, H.E. Sri Pranab Mukherjee, offered prayers at the temple of Goddess Padmavathi at Tiruchanoor here on Sunday.
The President and his entourage reached the temple in the noon where he was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the main threshold (Mahadwaram) by temple priests.
Temple priests, TTD chairman Sri Kanumuru and TTD EO Sri LV Subramanyam led the Honourable President along with Honourable Governor of AP Sri ESL Narasimhan, Hon’ble AP CM Sri N Kiran Kumar Reddy into the temple.
The President stood before the deity of Goddess Padmavathi for few minutes and offered prayers. Later the first citizen of the country was offered with prasadams of Goddess Padmavathi.
The family members of the Honourable President includes his Daughter-in-Law Smt Chitralekha Mukherjee and Grand Son Sri Shaunak Mukherjee who also offered prayers in the temple.
Hon’ble Ministers Smt. Galla Aruna Kumari, Sri C.Ramachanraiah, TTD JEOs Sri P Venkatrami Reddy, MPs Sri Kavuri Sambasivarao, Dr.Chinta Mohan, Sri KS Srinivasa Raju, President personal security Lt Sri Bhakshi and others were also present.
