VENGAMAMBA REFORMED THE SOCIETY WITH HER SPIRITUAL WORKS-SWAMY ANUPAMANANDA

Tirumala, 9 May 2017:”Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba not only attained spiritual salvation at the lotus feet of Lord Venkateswara through her literary works but also pioneered Annaprasadam in Tirumala”, said TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.

Speaking on the occasion of Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba 287th Jayanthi in Narayanagiri Gardens in Tirumala on Tuesday, the EO said, “Vengamamba stood as a spiritual role model in 18th Century. She has penned over 18 books in praise of Lord Venkateswara and Lord Narasimha Swamy. TTD has observed her Birth Anniversary in Tirumala, Tirupati and Tarigonda for two days. Today we have also observed Pushpanjali in Vengama Ghat in Tirumala”, he added.

Earlier in his spiritual address, Swamy Anupamananda, Chief of Ramakrishna Mutt Tirupati branch advocated “Vengamamba fought against all societal odds which prevailed in those days and reformed the society with her great piece of literary works and Sankeertanas. We can understand Bhagavat Gita, Ramayana and Mahabharata epics, Upanishads only we enlighten ourselves by reading the life history of great personalities like Vengamamba”, he added.

The artistes of Annmacharya Project rendered Vengamamba Sankeertans including Gnanayaka Saranu Gananayaka, Bala Gopalam Bhaje He Manasa, Vacchenu Krishnudu Vagameeraga, Laali Muddulabaala Laali Gopala, Jaya Mangalam Nitya Subha Mangalam in a melodious manner in front of the Unjal Seva of deities which were brought to Narayanagiri Gardens.

Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, All Projects Special Officer Sri N Muktheswara Rao and others were also present.
