ADIGO ..ALLADIGO… COPPER PLATES DISPLAYED AT EXPO
Tirumala, 22 September 2015:The unique display of ancient coins, photos of Lord’s jewellery and inscriptions had attracted over 20,000 visitors at the exhibitions organized during the Brahmotsavams, says Dr.P V Ranganayakulu, Chief Museum Officer of S V Museum.
Speaking to reporters at the Media center,Dr Ranganayakulu said among the 25 select items on display, the coins division comprising of Roman and British period coins were a major hit.The exhibition also comprised of rare inscriptions those of Brahmi script and also of the Vijayanagara period.
The other highlight of the exhibitions was the display of original copper plates of Annamacharya sankeertans including that of the popular one-” Adigo…Alladigo…Sriharivasamu”.
He said the exhibition also comprised of large photographs of rare jewels of the lord venkateswara. ‘Many research students have been visiting and inquiring about them ‘ he said .
Among others the exhibition put up by the S V Museum included a group of mini bronze statues which were as antique as1000 years old and also other artifacts and statues located in and around the Srivari temple and other temples of Tirumala and Tirupati.
