ANKURARPANA FOR GT BRHAMTOSAVAMS ON JUNE 3

Tirupati, 1 June 2014: The Ankurarpana, a prelude ritual before the commencement of annual brahmotsavams of Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple will take place on Tuesday seeking the success of the nine day event which is scheduled for 4th to 12th of June in Tirupati.

 Being considered as one of the oldest temples located in the temple city, this temple was consecrated by Saint Ramanujacharya in the year 1130AD. It has an imposing gopuram (with 11 golden kalasas) which can be seen from a distance.Usually the annual brahmotsavams are performed in the holy month of Vaisakha and Rathotsavam happens to be the most interesting event as it covers over 2km through the main streets of Tirupati encircling the temple. Thousands and thousands of pilgrims and local devotees takes part in this age old event.
