ANKURARPANAM FETE PERFORMED FOR KARTHIKA BRAHMOTSAVAMS OF GODDESS PADMAVATHI

Tiruchanur, 7 December 2015: The celestial “Seed Sowing Ceremony”-“Ankuararpanam” was performed in the famous shrine of Goddess Padmavathi Devi at Tiruchanoor on Monday evening as a preliminary to main ritual of annual Karthika Brahmotsavams which are going commence from Tuesday with Dhwaja Arohanam ceremony.

Meanwhile as a part of the Ankurarpanam fest, the ritual commenced with Sankalpa by the chief performer of ritual. Later the Navadhanyas were placed in nine different mud pots known as “Palikas” Invoking the blessings of Lord Vishwaksena for the successful conduct of the ritual. This was later followed by Kankanadharanam, (holy wrist-band made of threads).

Then the temple priests performed Mruthsangrahanam (collecting soil) and placed the Poornakumbham and chanted Vedic hymns and performed Ankurarpanam as per the norms of Pancharatra Agama.
