ANKURARPANAM PERFORMED FOR ANNUAL BRAHMOTSAVAMS IN SKVST

Srinivasa Mangapuram, 15 February 2015: Ankurarpanam’ ritual has been performed with religious fervour in the temple of Srinivasa Mangapuram on wednesday evening.

As a prelude to the annual brahmotsavams, Ankurarpanam or the “sacred seed sowing ritual” is performed at 6pm in srinivasa mangapuram wherein nine types of holy seeds in earthen containers have been sowed in holy soil and this is known as Mritsangrahanam. This ritual signifies the beginning of festival in the temple. This is followed by recital of vedic hymns.

Later the commander-in-chief of Lord Venkateswara, Sri Vishwaksena Swamy has been taken around the four mada streets in a grand procession. The celestial warrior has invited all the three crore deities to take part in the nine-day mega religious event of his Supremo Master.

Meanwhile dhwajarohanam will be observed at 8:30am to 9:30am in Meena Lagnam on Thursday.
