ANKURARPANAM PERFORMED TO KARTHIKA HOMA MAHOTSAVAMS IN KT
Tirupati, 31 October 2016: The famous Ankurarpana Mahotsavam has been performed with as a prelude to the month long religious event of Karthika Masa Homa Mahotsavams in the famous Lord Shiva temple of Kapilateertham on Monday.
Earlier the day began with Snapana Tirumanjanam to Panchamurthies followed by Alankara, Nivedana and Harati. Later in the evening before performing Ankurarpanam, Ganapathi Puja was performed followed by Punyahavachanam, Vaastu Puja, Paryagnikaranam. Later the sacred soil was collected in mud pots and this procedure was termed as Mritsangrahanam which was followed by Ankurarpanam. Later the holy Kalasam was established symbolically representing the commencement of month long fete and this was known as Kalasasthapana which was followed by Agni Pratishta, Laghu Purnahuti, Nivedana and Harati.
Meawhile the homa mahotsavams will commence with Ganapathi Homam which will be performed for three days starting from November 1 to 3.
As the auspicious month of Karthika commenced on October 31 on Monday, which is considered to be most sacred day for Lord Shiva temples in the holy month, the temple witnessed sea of humanity thronging for darshan of Lord Shiva.
TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, temple DyEO Sri Balaji and others also took part in this ceremonial fete which commenced on Monday onwards.
