ANNAMAIAH IS THE FIRST PRO OF LORD-SRI RAJAGOPALA CHAKRAVARTHY

Tirupati, 7 May 2015: Describing Saint Poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya as the first Public Relations Officer of Lord Venkateswara, renowned scholar Dr Vedantam Rajagopala Chakravarthy said, Annamacharya spread the Vaibhavam of Lord across the globe with his rare Sankeertans.

During his lecture as a part of the final day of the three-day Annamaiah Jayanthotsavams held in Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati on Thursday, Sri Chakravarthy spoke on “Annamaiah Sankeertanallo Tirumala Vaibhavam”. He said, Annamaiah gave wide publicity to the rituals, utsavams and various other kainkaryams that are being performed to Lord every day through out the year through his Kritis. “Brahmotsavam Idi Brahmotsavam Brahmandanayakuni Brahmotsavam”, depicting the grandeur of the mega religious event of Brahmotsavams of Lord, another sankeertana on Pushpayaga Kainkaryam are a few to mention”, he maintained.

Later Telugu scholar Sri Srimannarayana who delivered his speech on Annamaiah Sankeertana lo Prakrithi Chitrana” said, the saint poet is a great ecologist and environmentalist who imbibed the beauty of nature in his great works.

Sri GB Shankar Rao, giving speech on Annamaiah Sankeertanallo Sangeetham said, Annamacharya was not only a great lyricist but a great singer by himself and composed breathtaking ragas for many of his songs.

Renowned Critic Sri VAK Ranga Rao called up on the musicians especially the youngsters first to learn the essence of Annamaiah Kriti so that they can present them with “Bhava”(touching feel).

Earlier Asthanam was performed on the stage with the utsavarulu of Sri Rama, Sitadevi and Lakshmana Swamy brought from Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple.
