APPALAYAGUNTA BRAHMOTSAVAMS OFF TO A COLOURFUL START
Tirupati, 8 June 2014: The nine-day annual religious event of Appalayagunta brahmotsavams are to a colourful start with the ceremonious flag hoisting event of Dhwajarohanam which took place in the temple on Sunday.
The flag bearing image of Lord of Aves – Garudalwar was hoisted on the temple pillar between 8.15am to 8.30am amidst the chanting of vedic hymns by temple priests in the auspicious Mithuna Laganam.
Agama Scholar Sri Sundaravadanacharyulu and temple priest Sri Suryakumaracharyulu carried out the religious event with utmost devotion as per agamas.
Speaking on the occasion the special grade deputy EO Sri Bhaskar Reddy invited the denizens and pilgrims to take part in this grand event of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy who is popular for “Abhaya Hasta Mudra”(with hand in blessing posture).
Deputy Director of Garden Department Sri Srinivasulu, AEO Smt Nagaratna, AVSO Sri Ramakrishna, temple inspector Sri Srinivasulu and others were also present.
