ASTHOTTARA SATHAKUNDATHMAKA MAHA VARUNA YAGAM

Hyderabad, 2 July 2, 2009: The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy has today prayed to Lord Venkateswara Swamy and Lord Varuna Deva, God of Rains for the bountiful of rains and well-being of state and country. The Chief Minister has participated in “ASTHOTTARA SATHAKUNDATHMAKA MAHA VARUNA YAGAM” organized by TTD in Exhibition grounds, Namapally, Hyderabad. The Chief Minister took “Sankalpam” for the good of state on this sacred occasion as the Rithviks recited Vedic mantras.

Speaking on this occasion, the chief minister said there were widespread rains last year also after Varuna Yagam conducted by the TTDs in the same ground. He hoped that there would be good rains this year also.

The Ministers Sri Gade Venkata Reddy, Sri Mukesh Goud, Sri Ponnala Lakshmaiah, TTD Chairman Sri D.K.Audikesavulu, TTD Board Members Sri Kale Yadaiah, Dr. Anjaiah, TTD Executive Officer Sri I.Y.R.Krishna Rao, TTDs Spl Officer Sri A.V.Dharma Reddy, TTD Officers Sri Ramesh Reddy, Sri Prabhakara Reddy, TTD Vaikhanasa Agama Advisor Sri Vedantam Vishnu Battacharyulu, Srinivasa Charyulu and 150 Veda pundits participated in Varuna Yagam.
