BANJARA-NAGARA STANDS AS SPECIAL ATTRACTION DURING TIRUCHANOOR BRAHMOTSAVAMS

Tiruchanur, 25 November 2014: One of the famous ancient folk arts, Banjara Nagara which made its maiden entry in the cultural programmes organised for Karthika Brahmotsavams at Tiruchanoor invited the attention of pilgrims with
its unique style.

Banjara Nagara happens to be a traditional folk artform belonging to Andhra Pradesha and Telengana states. A troupe comprising of 20 artistes led by Ramu Naik, hailing from Khammam district performed this art with rhythmic beat of drums in Banjara style.

Speaking on this occasion, they described that they consider Hathiram Bavaji as their Guru. They presented “Sri Vari Vaibhavam” and “Tirumala Konda Charitra” with their folk art.

The devotees who converged to witness the grand procession of Vahanam, were equally delighted to the rhythmic beats of the drums of this folk art on Tuesday.
