BRAHMOTSAVAMS OF LORD SRI VENKATA KODANDARAMA SWAMY TEMPLE AT TIRUPATI BEGINS

TIRUPATI, MARCH 28:  The Navahnika(nine-day)brahmotsavams commenced in the famous shrine of Lord Sri Venkata Rama in Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati with Dhwajaroahana Mahotsavam on Friday.

The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has made elaborate arrangements than never before by erecting pandals, floral decorations, electrical illumination arches with mythological themes to celebrate this mega religious fete in this unique ancient temple of Lord Sri Rama.

The event started at around 8am with the chanting of vedic hymns by temple priests as per Vaikhana Agama and the holy flag with “Garuda Chitra Patham” has been hoisted on the temple pillar in Mesha Lagnam by 8.50am (Dhwajarohanam time is between 8am to 8.58am) in a celestial vigour. Hundreds of devotees converged to witness the fete.

Addressing media persons Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar said, “Being one of the ancient temples located in Tirupati, Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple occupies a unique place and it was built by Cholas in 10th century AD. The life size deities of Lord Sri Rama, Goddess Sita Devi and Sri Lakshmana in their adorable forms face towards West facing Holy Tirumala Hills have been blessing the devotees since centuries. This is why the Lord is also popular by name “Lord Venkata Rama”, he added. He urged the devotees to follow the traffic guidelines and participate in large numbers to make the religious event a huge success.

Deputy EOs Sri Haindranath, Sri EC Sreedhar, VGO Sri Hanumanthu, Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu and others were also present.

FLORAL EXOTICA IN SRI KODANDA RAMALAYAM

The entire temple of Lord Sri Venkata Rama in Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple, appeared as if the heaven was recreated in the temple town of Tirupati with the beautiful mythological themes designed with colourful flowers of various types.

The TTD Garden department under the supervision of its Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu displayed the floral dioramas including themes of “Lord Hanuman sitting on His mountainous tail in front of Ravanasura”, “King Dasaratha with his baby sons-Lord Sri Rama, Sri Lakshmana, Sri Bharatha and Sri Shatrughna in the cradle” beautifully created with exotic flowers.

The devotees enjoyed every glimpse of the floral decorations with admirations. The floral expo stood as a special attraction to the visiting pilgrims.
