CELESTIAL WEDDING CEREMONY CONCLUDES ON A GRAND NOTE

TIrumala, 17 May 2016: The three-day annual celestial wedding event Padmavathi Parinayotsavam, concluded on a grand note in Tirumala on Tuesday evening.

Braving the showers, tens of thousands of pilgrims converged the lush green gardens of Narayanagiri where the Swarnima Mandapam wedding venue is located.

On the final day, the processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy reached the finely decked mandapam on Garuda Vahanam while His two beloved consorts followed Him on Golden Tiruchi amidst chanting of vedic hymns and melas.

In Parinaya Mandapam after the ceremonious Edurkolu, Pubantaka, Mala Parivarthanam episodes, the deities were seated on the finely decorated swing. The Vedic pundits rendered hymns from Rig, Yajur, Sama and Adharwana vedas. After this, the nadaswaram artistes rendered instrumental notes in Nilambar, Bhupala, Madhyamavathi and other ragas in a melodious manner. This is followed by the rendition of Annamacharya kritis by the artistes of the project.

The new audio system set up by the Radio and Broad Casting department of TTD enhanced the sonic beauty of the instruments and vocalists.

Later the VaiKhanasa Agama Advisor Sri Sundaravadanacharyulu rendered Nakshara Harati and Kumbha Harati to culminate the divine marriage.
