CELESTIAL WEDDING FETE OF DEITIES COMMENCES IN N’GIRI GARDENS IN TIRUMALA

TIRUMALA, 4 May 2017: The three-day celestial wedding ceremony of Lord Malayappa Swamy, Sridevi and Budevi, Padmavathi Parinayotsavam commenced amidst religious fervour in Tirumala on Thursdayevening.

This festival is considered to one of the important festivals that is being observed in Tirumala which concludes on Saturday. TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas like arjitha brahmotsavam,Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva from Thursday to Saturday following the festival.

LORD RIDES GAJA VAHANAM

The processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy was taken to the Narayanagiri Gardens on small Gaja Vahana on the first day, while His two consorts adorned with special jewels followed Him to the tastefully decorated Narayanagiri Gardens on separate palanquins.

“EDURKOLU” AND “PUBANTATA” REMAIN SPECIAL ATTRACTION’

Traditional events which are usually performed during the Hindu wedding ceremony including welcoming of Bride and Bridegroom (Edurkolu), throwing of floral balls by bride and bridegroom at each other (Pubantata), exchange of floral garlands etc. have been performed which has provided a feast to the eyes of thousands of pilgrims who converged in the gardens to witness the celestial fete.

VEDIC HYMNS RENDERED

When the Unjal seva of the deities was underway, the vedic scholars presented hymns from Rig, Yajur, Sama and Adharwana Vedas, Artistes of TTD’s Annamacharya Project presented devotional songs, the Nadaswaram Artistes rendered seven important ragas including Kalyani, Vasantha, Darbar, Madhyamavathi, Bhoopala, Neelambari and Hindustani in a soothing manner which added an extra glory to the fete.

ANANDA NILAYA SWARNA MANDPAM REPLICATED

This year the Parinaya Mandapam has been conceptualised with a backdrop of Golden Ananda Nilayam Vimanam which provided a divine visual to pilgrims. The swans, colourful pots, varieties of fruits hanged from the roof top added extra zing thing to the glitterati mandapam. About 4 tonnes of different varieties of fruits, one tonne of traditional flowers, 25 thousands cut flowers were used to decorate the swans mandapam.

EO AND JEO COMPLIMENT GARDEN WING

TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao and Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju complimented TTD Garden wing for the decorations and invited the pilgrims, local to take part in three day fete in a big way.

Temple DyEO Sri Rama Rao, Temple Peishkar Sri Ramesh, Parpathyedar Sri Doraswamy Naik, VGO Sri Raveendra Reddy and others took part.
