CHATRSTHAPANOTSAVAM PERFORMED IN TIRUMALA

Tirumala, 8 August 2014: The annual festival of Chatrasthapanotsavam at Narayanagiri Padalu has been performed with religious pomp and gaiety in Tirumala on Friday. According to temple legend, Lord Venkateswara first landed on this Narayanagiri mountain before entering into Srivari temple, which is considered to be the highest point of Seven Hills of Tirumala. To mark this ceremonial occasion, Chatrasthapanotsavam has been performed where in a new traditional Umbrella was brought and special pujas were performed to “Srivari Padalu”.
