COMMENCE CHATURMASYA VRATA DEEKSHA

Tirumala, 24 July 2016: The pontiffs of Tirumala, HH Sri Periyakovil Kelviyappan Shadagopa Ramanuja Pedda Jiyangar Swamy and junior pontiff, HH Sri Narayana Ramanuja Chinna Jiyangar swamy received with the traditional temple honours in Tirumala on Sunday in connection with the commencement of their chaturmasya deeksha.

TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao along with TTD Trust Board Chairman Dr Ch Krishna Murthy and Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju received them at main entrance of the temple on their arrival at Mahadwaram. Later the holy person duo had darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

Afterwards the Peeda Jiyar and Chinna Jiyar swamijis were presented with pattu melchat vastram, parivattam and Bharichat vastram, parivattam inside kulasekhara Alwarpadi in sanctum.

Later speaking on importance of Chaturmasya Deeksha both the pontiffs of Tirumala said, Bharat is the land of Karmabhoomi. And Sri Vaishnava Acharya Sri Ramanujacharya has taught many pujas and vratas for the wellbeing of humanity. Today we have commenced Chaturmasya Deeksha as per tradition”, they added.

In his speech TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said the saintly persons follow Chaturmasya Deeksha in the four months- Shravana, Bhadrapada, Aaswayuja and karteeka performing sacred deeds like Snana, Japa, Tapa, Homa etc.with utmost devotion for the welfare of the humanity.

Later Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju said, TTD Trust Board Chief Dr Ch Krishna Murty and TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao received the holy persons of Tirumala as per temple tradition. “They were presented with the sacred vastrams inside sanctum sanctorum and they received the blessings of Lord Venkateswara for the fruitful completion of the Deeksha meant for wellbeing of entire humanity”, he added.

Temple Dyeo Sri Kodanda Rama Rao, VSO Sri Ravindra Reddy and others were also present.
