DEEPAVALI ASTHANAM PERFORMED WITH RELIGIOUS FERVOUR IN SRI GT

Tirupati, 24 October 2014: Deeparadhana in Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple and Deepavali Asthanam in Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy have been performed with religious fervor in connection with festival of lights-Deepavali on Thursday.

Sri Pedda Jiyar and Sri Chinna Jiyar swamy along with Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar carried the ghee lit lamps from Pundarikavalli temple to Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple and performed deeparadhana in sannidhi. Later the seers carried the ghee lit lamps in mud vessels from Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple to Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple amidst chanting of veda mantras in a celestial procession. Initially they offered prayers in Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple located opposite Sri Rama Temple and later presented new silk vatrams to the presiding deities in the temple and Deepavali Asthanam was performed in a grand manner. Deputy EOs Sri Chandra Sekhara Pillai, Sri Harindranath was also present.
