Tirupati, 28 December 2015: “Tirupati has already emerged as world renowned pilgrim centre and we should now focus on in developing the temple city as a model “Spiritual Eco Centre” as per the instructions of AP CM Sri N Chandrababu Naidu said Honourable Minister of AP cabinet Sri B Gopala Krishna Reddy.

Addressing the 38th task force meeting held at SPRH in Tirupati on Monday evening aimed at the development and the beautification of temple city, the Minister called upon the TTD, district authority, railways, RTC everyone to co-ordinate with each other and develop Tirupati into a model city in the entire country.

He said the government will offer its full support in achieving this ambitious task of making Tirupati a model spiritual Eco centre.

Ttd EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, TTD has already commenced its task of beautification of all the tanks present in and around Tirupati as per the instructions,of Honourble CM of AP. “Among the 100 tanks eleven are in urban limits while the remaining under Panchayat Raj control. We are ready to develop all the tanks, if they are handed over to us without any legal litigations. And in some cleared tanks, some are dumping the construction garbage which need to be addressed by the respective department of the district authority”, he observed.

Earlier TMC Commissioner Sri Vinay Chand briefed on the various issues which were identified, redressed and under persuasion through power point presentation.

He said about 214 important issues have been identified since the commencement of Task Force meeting in 1997. Important issues to be redressed includes:

➢ Repair, Renovation and Restoration of TG water supply at a cost of Rs.15.85cr.

➢ Revitalisation of lakes under TMC which were handed over to TTD which are in progress.

➢ Development of Railway Station and Bus Starion

➢ Modern Sanitisation programme

➢ Comprehensive Traffic Management
➢ Clearance of Balaji Reservoir Scheme

Honourable MP Chittoor Sri Sivaprasad, MLAs Sri Sugunamma, Sri Aditya, MLCs Sri M Krishnama Naidu, Sri G Sreenivasulu, District Collector Sri Siddharth Jain, Urban SP Sri Gopinath Jetti, TTD, TUDA, TMC, Railways, Tourism and other department officials were also present.
