DEVOTEE NOT MANHANDLED-TTD VIGILANCE OFFICIALS

Tirumala, 22 March,2017: Condemning the reports aired by some electronic media channels where in it was allegedly reported that a devotee was beaten up by TTD security sleuths and hospitalized was totally baseless, said TTD vigilance and security officials on Wednesday.

According to the TTD vigilance officials, one Sri Padmanabham aged around 65y from Eluru, on the night of March 20 at about 21:30hrs entered women devotees scanning point near temple scanning turning deaf to the repeated instructions of the on duty women security guards.

It has resulted in a heated argument between guards and the devotee. Later the pilgrim collapsed due to sudden increase of blood pressure. Immediately the security guards have made him sit and given him water and admitted him in Aswini hospital in ambulance.

On the advice of Aswini doctors he was shifted to Apollo Cardiac centre, who later taken to SVIMS super specialty hospital in Tirupati for better medical treatment. A team of TTD doctors lead by CMO Dr N Vikas are in regular touch with SVIMS to offer the best treatment to the devotee.

“We have the CCTV footage evidence also which clearly shows that no manhandling took place on that day and the scrolling by some electronic media is totally baseless”, the vigilance officials of TTD maintained.
