DEVOTEES MUSED BY THE CHARM OF GODDESS ON “FLORAL BED”

TIRUCHANOOR, NOVEMBER 28:After the completion of the nine-day religious ceremony of Karthika Brahmotsavams in the temple of Tiruchanoor, the Goddess Padmavathi Devi was rendered a colourful floral bath as a part of the annnual “Pushpa Yaga Mahotsavam” on Friday evening.

The ceremonious pushpayagam has been performed with religious fervor with tonnes of varieties of colourful traditional flowers and floral leaves. The significance of this religious ceremony is to give a soothing feel to Goddess with aromatic floral bath after Her nine-day long hectic schedule during annual brahmotsavams during which she blessed the pilgrims on 16 different vahanams.

The ceremony lasted for about three hours on Friday evening amidst the chanting of vedic hymns. About 6tonnes of 12 varieties of flowers and 6 variieties of aromatic grass have been used for this floral bath. The flowers included chamanti(Cysanthimum), sampangi, vrukshi(Ixora), ganneru(Arali), roses, lillies, Kanakambaram(crassandra), lotus, mogali, manu sampangi, Kaluva and Mollalu while the aromatic grass included tulsi, maruvam, davanam, bilwam, kadiripaccha and panner leaves.

The beauty of Goddess enhanced with the floral tribute. The Goddess seated on the bed of these flowers enchanted the pilgrims.

Earlier in the noon, women devotees took part in the procession of flowers under the supervision of Deputy Director of Garden Department of TTD, Sri Srinivas took place from Asthana Mandapam to the temple at Tiruchanoor.

JEO Tirupati Sri P Bhaskar, Temple Spl.Gr.Dy.E.O.Smt Chenchu Lakshmi, SE III Sri Ramachandra Reddy, AEO Smt Nagarathana, Garden Supdt Sri Srinivas, Supdt Sri Varaprasad, Arjitham & Prasadam Inspectors Sri Anjaneyulu, TTD officials and huge number of devotees were also present during this religious fete.
