“DHARMAGIRI VEDA VANGMAYA PEETHAM TO BE THE CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE”-TTD EO

TIRUMALA, JAN 9: The Sri Venkateswara Veda Vangmaya Peetham (Dharmagiri Veda Pathashala) should become the “Centre for Excellence” in imparting vedic knowledge not only in the country but also to the world, said, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

Addressing the faculty and the student in this 130-year old vedic institute located in the thick green forest cover at Tirumala in Dharmagirion Friday, the EO complimented the students to be the most fortunate to study in this age old institute located at the abode of Lord Venkateswara. “Vedas are the base for the Hindu Sanatana Dharma, culture, tradition, morals and our rich heritage. It is the bounden duty of every student of this historical institute to give the knowledge to the world for the betterment of entire humanity”, he maintained.

The EO also advised the students to develop communication skills in English besides Telugu and Sanskrit and also acquire computer knowledge as they are of great use for them to prosper their career. This will not only help you to pursue your career with in the country but also across the world. If you get postings in temple located abroad, it will be of great help to you”, he said.

Adding further, the EO said, “On the lines of other professional courses, we may also think of one year apprenticeship in Vedic studies so that the vedic students might be given a chance to prove their skills by performing priesthood in various temples located across the country. I will see that the campus selections be introduced in Vedic education also to encourage the students”, he assured.

Earlier the students belonging to 17 departments including Vaikhanasa, Saiva, Pancharatra, Srivaishnava, Krishna Yajurveda, Sukla Yajurveda, Smartha etc. rendered relevant mantras in rhythm which was appreciated by the Executive Officer.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Peetham Principal Sri Kuppa Venkata Sivasubrahmanya Avadhani, other faculty members, over 800 students were also present.
