DIVINE MOTHER RIDES ON HAMSA VAHANAM

Tiruchanoor, 27 Nov. 16: On the evening of Second day on Sunday, the Goddess Padmavathi Devi donning the Avatar of Goddess Saraswathi took celestial ride on Hamsa Vahanam in the four mada streets and blessed the devotees.

IMPORTANCE: In Hindu mythology, the White Swan occupies a pride place of being the most favourite vehicle of Sarawathi Devi- the Goddess of Wisdom. The Swan has the capacity to separate milk and water like the Paramatma who separates Good from Bad.

The Swan is therefore considered as the symbol for Brahman-Atman in Hindu iconography. The Hamsa is often identified with the Supreme Spirit and Ultimate Reality.

By taking ride on this divine vehicle, the Goddess throws light on the minds of the people to identify the inner spirit and act accordingly.
