EO INSPECTS VONTIMITTA ARRANGEMENTS

VONTIMITTA, 12 April 2016: With just a day left for annual Brahmotsavams and a week left for Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam in the recently TTD taken over temple of Lord Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Vontimitta in YSR Kadapa district, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao inspected the ongoing arrangements.

After inspecting the ongoing works of Kalyana Vedika, the EO held review meeting with the district officials in Haritha Guest House. During the review meeting with the district collector Sri MV Ramana and SP Navin Gulati, the EO Dr Sambasiva Rao instructed the TTD health, vigilance and electrical departments to co-ordinate with the district administration in maintaining proper sanitation, security arrangements and uninterrupted power supply during the annual Brahmotsavams which are scheduled from April 14 to April 24 and especially the mega religious event of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 20.

EO stressed that there should not be any compromise in the arrangements especially for Kalyanam as it is the first major religious event after the separation of Andhra Pradesh And the state government is considering it as a prestigious ceremony. “The food arrangements also will be jointly made by TTD Annaprasadam wing and the district administration”, he added.

From TTD side Additional CVSO Sri Siva Kumar Reddy, CE Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy, Sri SE Sri Sudhakar Rao, SE Electricals Sri Venkateswarulu, Annaprasadam Dyeo Sri Venugopal, Health Officer Dr Sermista, Garden Dy Director Sri Srinivasulu, PRO Dr T Ravi, RDO Sri Prabhakar Pillai were also present.

KOIL ALWAR TIRUMANJANAM PERFORMED:

As a prelude to the annual Brahmotsavams, the traditional temple cleansing ceremony, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was performed with religious fervour on Tuesday in Vontimitta.
Koil Tirumanjanam is a purification ceremony of sanctum santorum and temple premises by devotees. During the ceremony all the deities and other articles are removed from santum santorum and cleansed while the “Mula Virat” is covered with a water- proof covering.
The entire Garbha Griham, including floors, ceilings and walls, sub-shrines inside the sanctum, puja articles are cleaned with water and Tirumanjanam which is a composition of camphor, sandal paste, saffron, turmeric Kicchili Gadda (a root vegetable) etc. is smeared, which acted as a disinfectant.
