EXPLORE GUIDE LINES FOR AN “IDEAL GOSHALA”-TTD JEO

TIRUPATI, MAY 27: The Tirupati Joint Executive Officer Sri P Bhaskar called upon the experts who are striving hard to protect indigenous cattle to explore and formulate specific guidelines to develop an “Ideal Goshala” to up the protection of cows in a massive way.

A brain storming session on “Strengthening of Goshalas and National Conference on Glory of incredible Indian Cow” chaired by Tirupati JEO of TTD Sri P Bhaskar took placei n SVETA building in Tirupati on Tuesday.

Addressing the inaugural session of the two day programme conducted by SV Gosamrakshana Shala of TTD, the JEO said, the indegenous breeds are facing the danger of extinction in the country to day and there is an urgent need to formulate specific guidelines to protect such breeds.

“We have been doing the protection of cows from the past three decades by setting up an exclusive trust for the cows to the extent possible. But you should join the hands in the noble service of protecting Gomata for which we are ready to provide you financial aid”, he maintained.

He also said, “Though we (the Hindus) worship cow as Gomata,  we are drastically failing to create an impression or make the people belive of the medicinal effects of “Pancha Gavya” which is another area of concern”, he added.

The JEO said TTD is playing a vital role in the conservation of productive cattle especially the native ones and felt the need to support the existing private goshalas which have been putting strenuous efforts in protecting the cow by providing them financial aid to purchase fodder to maintain unproductive and rescued cattle.

Sri Bhaskar called upon scientists, diary farmers, representatives from Animal Husbandry Departments, Veterinary varsities from AP, Tamilnadu and Maharastra who were to present in the two day session to evolve guidelines for extending financial support and also explore ideas for self sustenance and improvement of Goshalas, methodologies for periodical monitoring, indegenous cattle conservation and to draw a successful road map to conduct national conference duly framing scientific programmes.
