TIRUPATI, NOVEMBER 1: “Many great saints and emperors have trekked the Alipiri Footpath route and attained salvation at the lotus feet of Lord Venkateswara and it is now our turn to protect their devotional legacy and sustain the sanctity of Tirumala”, said TTD EO Sri MG Gopal.
The TTD numero uno officer who graced the Traimasika Metlotsavam as Chief Guest on Saturday at Alipiri Padala Mandapam said, Acharya Purushas like Saint Annamacharya, Sri Vysaraja Yatiswara, Sri Purandhara Dasa, Sri Krishna Deva Raya and others trekked the holy foot path route with bear foot and served the Lord till their last breath. “To sustain the legacy laid by them, we have commenced the Metlotsavam. Trekking the sacred Tirumala Hills on bear foot in Brahma Muhurtam is a commendable spiritual programme”, he maintained.
Over 3000 bhajan devotees of Dasa Sahitya Project hailing from AP, TS, TN, Karnataka and Maharastra took part in this religious event.
