TRAIMASIKA METLOTSAVAM OFF TO A RELIGIOUS START IN TIRUPATI

Tirumala, 6 August 2015: The Pontiff of Prayaga Mutt HH Sri Vidyatmateertha Swamy advocated that for establishing Dharma in Kaliyuga Lord Venkateswara emerged and settle on the sacred Hills of Tirumala in the pilgrim city of Tirupati.

The three-day Traimasika Metlotsavam off to a grand start in the temple city of Tirupati on Thursday evening. In his speech, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao asserted that Dasa Sahitya is the most committed Project with disciplined members among many other projects of TTD. “There is a huge responsibility on you to take our spiritual programmes more into masses. Involve actively in Subhapradam, Managudi and other activities, he added.

Dasa Sahitya Project Special Officer Sri Anandateerthacharyu said, Metlotsavam is a religious event which is observed once in every three months by Dasa Sahitya Project of TTD every year in a big way. The idea was mulled following the divine path shown by great saints and acharya purushas including Sri Purandhara Dasa, Sri Vyasaraja Yatiswara, Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, Matrusi Tarigonda Vengamamba, Sri Krishna Deva Raya and many others.

It is believed that alighting Tirumala foot path route in the early hours is equivalent to 1000 times visiting Kasi and Ramaswaram. That is why our Puranas and Venkatachala Mahatyam have stated that there is no God in the entire creation, universe and cosmos equal to Lord Venkateswara and no place as holiest as Tirumala ranges.

Over 3000 Dasa troupes hailing from AP, TS, TN and Karnataka took part in the programme.

TTD CHAIRMAN TAKES PART IN SHOBHA YATRA:

Earlier, in the evening, TTD Trust board chief Sri Ch Krishnamurthy took part in the shobhayatra of the religious fete which commenced at Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple to II Chowltry. He complimented the project for spreading the dharma Prachara through their activities in a big way.
