BIO DIVERSITY AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON CHORD IN TIRUMALA RANGES
Tirumala, 21 Mar. 19: The lust green cover of Seshachala forests is a home to abundant species of flora and fauna which enhanced the spiritual and devotional quotient of Tirumala.
To give devotees and pilgrims who visit in huge numbers every day to Tirumala, the TTD forest development has got up a unique display of its rarest endemic, endangered species of aves and animals at the natural rocky arch – Shila Thoranam in Tirumala.
The display of cement models of various wild beasts which are unique to Tirumala ranges viz. Peacock, Pythons, rare serpents, star turtles, civet cats (Punugu pilli), Slender loris (Devanga pilli), forest squirrel, Brahmanic Kites (a type of eagle), chameleons, Golden gaecko (gold colour lizard visible only in Tirumala) hill lizards, birds like parrots etc. mirroring the bio-diversity resplendent in Seshachala forest.
According to the DFO Sri Phani Kumar Naidu, this attractive Jungle Affair at Shila Thoranam comprised of six cement models, 11 rocks cut figurines three carvings on Kadapa black stones have already been a massive hit with pilgrims visiting Tirumala during the summer season. He said these rich stony, rocky models were put up by experts of Universal Eco Foundation of Puducherry at a cost of ₹10 lakhs. We are contemplating similar Jungle Amusement Park in Tirupati also, he added.

తిరుమల, 2019 మార్చి 21: శేషాచలం పుణ్య తీర్థాలతోపాటు అరుదైన వృక్ష, జంతు, పక్షిజాతులకు నిలయం. ఆధ్యాత్మిక శోభకు, ప్రకృతి ప్రేమికులకు స్వర్గధామం. ఇలాంటి అడ‌విలోని అరుదైన జీవ‌రాశుల‌న్నీ ఒకేచోట క‌నిపిస్తే ఎంతో ఆనందం క‌లుగుతుంది. అలాంటి ఆనందం సొంతం కావాలంటే తిరుమ‌ల‌లోని శిలాతోర‌ణం వ‌ద్ద‌కు వెళ్లాల్సిందే.
టిటిడి అట‌వీ విభాగం ఆధ్వ‌ర్యంలో శిలాతోర‌ణం వ‌ద్దగ‌ల ఉద్యాన‌వ‌నంలో జీవ‌వైవిధ్యాన్ని ప్ర‌తిబింబించేలా ప్ర‌త్యేక ఏర్పాట్లు చేశారు. పాండిచ్చేరికి చెందిన యూనివ‌ర్స‌ల్ ఎకో ఫౌండేష‌న్ నిపుణులు జీవ‌క‌ళ ఉట్టిప‌డేలా అరుదైన జీవ‌రాశుల ప్ర‌తిరూపాల‌ను ఏర్పాటుచేశారు. ఇందులో దేవాంగ‌పిల్లి, నెమ‌లి, కొండ‌చిలువ, ఇత‌ర స‌ర్పాలు, న‌క్ష‌త్ర తాబేలు, గ‌ద్ధ, డేగ, ఊస‌ర‌వెళ్లి, బెట్టు ఉడ‌త త‌దిత‌ర ప‌క్షులు, జంతువుల ఆకృతులున్నాయి. అదేవిధంగా, క‌డ‌ప బండలపై రంగురంగుల సీతాకోక‌చిలుక‌లు, ప‌లుర‌కాల ప‌క్షుల చిత్ర‌లేఖ‌నాలు క‌నువిందు చేస్తున్నాయి. ఇలాంటివి 6 సిమెంట్ ఆకృతులు, 11 శిలాకృతులు, 3 క‌డ‌ప బండలపై చిత్ర‌లేఖ‌నాలు ఉన్నాయి.
శేషాచ‌ల అడ‌వుల్లో అంత‌రించిపోతున్న అరుదైన జీవ‌రాశుల గురించి తిరుమ‌లకు వ‌చ్చే యాత్రికుల‌కు అవ‌గాహ‌న క‌ల్పించేందుకు ఈ ఏర్పాట్లు చేప‌ట్టామ‌ని టిటిడి డిఎఫ్‌వో శ్రీ ఫ‌ణికుమార్ నాయుడు తెలిపారు. ఇందుకోసం 10 లక్ష‌లు వ్య‌యం చేశామ‌న్నారు. స్వ‌ల్ప వ్య‌వ‌ధిలోనే సంద‌ర్శ‌కుల సంఖ్య బాగా పెరిగింద‌న్నారు. రానున్న రెండు నెల‌ల్లో తిరుప‌తిలోనూ ఇలాంటి ప్ర‌ద‌ర్శ‌న ఏర్పాటు చేస్తామ‌ని తెలిపారు.
