TIRUPATI, 24 NOVEMBER 2022: Finally, the much-awaited moment for the devotees who have been longing from the past two and a half years, has arrived on Thursday evening at 7pm when the Goddess of Riches, Sri Padmavathi Devi took out a celestial ride on Her favourite carrier Gaja Vahanam in Tiruchanoor on the fifth day evening as a part of the ongoing Karthika Brahmotsavams. 

Adding the extra glamour to the celestial beauty is the Lakshmi Kasula Haram brought from Tirumala which was adorned to Her to enhance the divine charm for this special and momentous occasion.

LIKE GARUDA SEVA FOR LORD GAJA FOR HIS CONSORT:

Like Garuda Vahanam which is considered to be most important vehicle for Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, Gaja Vahanam is considered as the most prominent vehicle among various other Vahana sevas of Goddess Padmavathi.

SIBLING OF AIRAVATA:

Another important relation between the goddess and the divine pachyderm is that both emerged from the “Milk Ocean” during Ksheera Sagara Madanam. So the divine elephant Airavata also is the sibling of Goddess.

ELEPHANT SYMBOLISES ROYAL POWERS:

This significance for Divine elephant has been attributed in various ways with many puranic references. Elephant is not only considered mighty just because of its size but of its intelligence, martial skills and divinity but is often considered as the symbol of royalty.

Goddess Padmavathi represents wealth, prosperity, brightness, light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage. She symbolizes royal elegance, beauty, grace and charm and hence she prefers to take a pleasure ride on the “Royal Elephant” which is Her favourite ride during the Brahmotsavams.

HUGE TURN OUT OF DEVOTEES

As the annual fete is taking place after a gap of two years devotees turned out in large numbers to witness Gaja Vahana Seva of Goddess Padmavati in Tiruchanoor.

Both the Pontiffs of Tirumala, Agama Advisor Sri Srinivasacharyulu and other religious staff were present.

TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy, EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, Collector Sri Venkatramana Reddy, TTD Ex-officio Sri Bhaskar Reddy, JEOs Smt Sada Bhargavi, Sri  Veerabrahmam, CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore, CEO SVBC Sri Shanmukh Kumar, CE Nageswara Rao, DyEO Sri Lokanatham and other officials were present.
