GAJA VAHANAM ENHANCES MAJESTY OF LORD GOVINDA RAJA SWAMY

Tirupati, 5 June 2017: On the evening of the sixth day on Monday as a part of the on going Navahnika Bramhmitsavams, the processional deity was taken out on the vehicle the majestic elephant vehicle.

Made of gold covering, it is the most majestic among all the vehicles during the utsavam. Lord Govinda Raja Swamy enthralled the devotees on the Gaja Vahanam.

SIGNIFICANCE

Elephant has been a vehicle of the deities in Hindu Dharma from time immemorial.

The richness of hindu mythology lies in its generosity to provide a respectable position of worship even for various species of fauna. Starting from Cow to Crow each of these creatures have a revered place in Hindu scriptures.

Among those blessed creatures, the mighty elephant occupies a pride place being the vehicle of Goddess Laxmi Devi, the Consort of Lord Vishnu. To appease His consort as well to bless the devotees with prosperity lord takes a pleasure ride on Gaja Vahanam.

H.H.Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy of Tirumala Mutt, H.H.Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy,Local Temples DyE.O Smt Varalakshmi, Exe Engineer Sri Jagadesswara Reddy and large number of devotees took part in this function.
