GAJADHWAJA BID ADIEU TO DEITIES

Tiruchanur, 23 November 2017: After the successful conduct of nine day annual karthika brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi Devi at Tiruchanoor, the deities were thanked and bidden adieu with the lowering of Gajadhwaja.

The Dhwajapataka bearing the image of Gaja which was hoisted on first day welcoming all deities to take part in the celestial festival, was lowered on dhwajastambham amidst chanting of vedic hymns by priests on Thursday night.

Dhwajavarohanam was observed to bid adieu to deities and is also a thanks giving ceremony for their participation in the fest. It also signifies that get ready for next year festival which will have more grandeur with their presence.
