Tirumala, 8 October 2016: Colorful flower decorations depicting scenes from mythology, the rare photographs of Tirumala temple and its environs, sand art, rare idols from TTD museum, AYUR medicines which are put for display in TTD mega exhibition at Kalyana Vedika in Tirumala, not only providing cynosure to eyes of devotees but also informative.

MYTHOLOGICAL THEMES IN FLOWER SHOW

The exhibitions became the next best stop for the pilgrims at Tirumala after Srivari temple and the Vahana sevas in mada streets. The Flower and fruits display, sand art, etc were a major hit among the multitude of pilgrims thronging the expo. ‘I have never seen anything like this and it is a life experience’ said 24 year old IT student Arpita Gokhale, Pune who was in Tirumala and Brahmotsavam for the first time. “The unique concepts including the Pandavas escaping from fire of lac palace, Hanuman lifting the Sanjeevini mountain, Kumbakarna in Ramayana battle are just speechless”, she added with excitement.

TTD IS LEADER IN BOTH SPIRITUAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

The Mega Brahmotsavam exhibitions out up by the 14 front line departments of TTD aimed to showcase their activities is educative to the pilgrims. “We thought TTD is just managing the temple and making laddus. Now we know the large spectrum of activity at Tirumala and that it is a real custodian of the Hindu Sanatana Dharma and also the biodiversity of the Forests around it”, said Sri Subramanyam hailing from Chennai who is an environmentalist by profession.

For Radhika Rao from Sri Rangam of TN, who has come with her two children and says that the exhibition of flowers, Ayurveda, forests and sculpture are enlightening all the ages of people. “To the model golden doors (bangaru vakili) at srivari temple in glittering gold color and the Pandava Maha sabha, portraits of all 12 Alwars is an added attraction at the Bangaru vakili replica”, she maintained.

The mega expo has been attracting the pilgrims in a big way, with the devotees showing unprecedented enthusiasm in taking selfies before every mythological theme, hanging gardens etc.

TTD EO Dr Sambasiva Rao says “After all we do all these to show case the activities of TTD for devotees benefit and also attract them to become partners in voluntary services. We want the exhibitions to educate the pilgrims of our activities in preserving ecology, promoting research work in Ayurveda medicine, sculpting, architecture, preserving Vedas, heritage of bhakti literature and keertans of Annamayya and Alwars. Our photographs portrayed our legacy. The suggestions from devotees will be favorably considered for inclusion in the next edition of the Mega Exhibition”, the TTD administrative chief said.
