GITA JAYANTHI CELEBRATIONS FROM DECEMBER 11 TO JAN 1

Tirupati, Dec 9: The Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) wing of TTD will observe “Gita Jayanti” celebrations in connection with the birthday of Bhagvad Gita, the sacred text of the Hindu religion from December 11 to 13 in Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati.

This annual festival will also be observed across all the Dharma Prachara Parishad centres not only in the state of AP but also in Chennai, Bangalore and Guruvayur. centres.

The special programmes will commence every day by 8.45am with Veda pathanam followed by Gita Parayanam by 9am, religious discourses by stalwarts like Dr Samudrala Lakshmanaiah, retired Prof.Sarvottama Rao, former HDPP Secretary Sri HS Brahmananda on the consecutive days respectively. While there will be recitation of “Gita Ganam” by renowned playback singer Sri Gangadhara Shastry on first day evening between 6pm to 8pm in Mahati.

Meanwhile HDPP is also organising competitions in Sri Vishnu Sahasra Nama recitation to denizens in Annamacharya Kalamandir on December 10 on this occasion. While the children who topped Bhagavat Gita recitation that was already conducted by HDPP will be given away prizes on Decmeber 13.
