GODDESS RIDES ON CELESTIAL ASWA VAHANAM

In the evening on Friday, Goddess Padmavathi draped in colourful silk clothes and glittering jewellery, was carried on a gold-gilded carrier “Aswa Vahanam” which happens to be the last among the grand fleet of 16 vahanams (including two rathams) which enthralled the pilgrims in spiritual ecstasy all these days before the nine day religious fete is concluded with Panchami Teertham on Saturday.

The Jeeyangar and his team of Vaishnavite scholars led the vahanam by rendering the Tamil verses, while the Veda Parayanadars chanted hymns from the Vedas at the end of the colourful procession. The cultural troupes in the form of ‘Kolatam’ performers, dancers and percussion instrumentalists added grandeur to the entire procession.

TTD Chairman Sri K.Bapi Raju, TTD EO Sri MG Gopal, Joint Executive Officer Sri Pola Bhaskar, Suptd of Police( Urban) Sri Rajasekhar Babu, DyEO(PAT) Sri Bhaskar Reddy, AEO Smt. Nagarathana, Supdt Engineer Sri Ramachandra Reddy, VGO Sri Hanumanthu, Temple staff and devotees took part.
