GOKULASTAMI AT SV GO SAMRAKSHANA SHALA ON AUG 25

Tirupati, 9 August 2016: The Gokulashtami festival-the Birth day of Lord Krishna, will be performed in a grand fitting manner at Sri SV Go Samrakshana shala, under the aegis of the Sri Venkateswara Go Samrakshana Trust on August 25th.

TTD which has been functioning as a custodian of Sanatana Hinduism has been celebrating Gokulashtami as one of the premier Hindu festivals. Besides worshipping of the Holy Cow, several other cultural programs would be conducted at the Go Samrakshana shala on the occasion. Decorations were made at the Sri SV Go Samrakshana shala to recreate the mythological lores of Sri Krishna among cows.

Massive green pandals, mango leaf and flower decorations were being made at the Goshala to resemble Gokula. All devotees were given an opportunity feed jaggery, rice and grass to the cows. Cow is considered Go Mata as per Hindu Dharma and the TTD provided devotees an opportunity to worship cows.

Special programs were being organised at the Sri SV Go Samrakshana shala as part of Gokulashtami which include Veenu ganam, Bhajans by TTD Dasa Sahitya Project and folk kolata dances and Harikatha programs by Hindu Dharma prachara parishad, cultural programs like Go Puja, Harathi and Sri Venugopalaswami. Later Sri Venugopalaswami darshan and prasadam were also distributed.
